Tulsa Information

As the birth place of Route 66 Tulsa, Oklahoma is one of the most important centers for the American oil industry. Nicknamed “Oil Capital of the World” Tulsa plays a key factor as an valuable city. Originally founded by the Creek Native American tribe in the 1830’s.

Tulsa has diversified outside the oil industry even as oil has dominated the city's economy. The city's diversification lies in telecommunication, technology based companies, finance, energy, and aviation.

Home to one of the most inland river ports in the U.S. with access to international waterways known as Tulsa Port of Catoosa. This port is the key connection to the areas international trade and transportation businesses. One of cities largest employers is at the Tulsa International Airport namely American Airlines maintenance facility which serves globally and includes the airlines engineering headquarters as well.

Products manufactured and produced in Tulsa account for 60% of all the exports out of Oklahoma. A leading magazine said Tulsa’s income growth was named second in the U.S. Currently a large economic developement and investment surge is taking place in this city.
